Gel-X Extensions

What it is : Full-cover soft gel tips adhered with gel, cured under UV/LED.
Durability : 2–4 weeks.
Look & Feel : Lightweight, natural-looking, flexible.
Removal : Soaks off with acetone (gentler than acrylic).

Pros:

  • Less damaging to natural nails.
  • Quicker application than acrylic.
  • Many pre-shaped styles available (coffin, stiletto, almond, etc.).

Cons:

  • Slightly less durable than acrylic for people who use their hands a lot.
  • Requires UV/LED curing.

Nail Enhancements

Acrylic Nails

What it is: Mixture of liquid monomer + powder polymer, forms a hard protective layer.
Durability : 3–6 weeks (strongest option).
Look & Feel : Thicker, harder, can feel heavier.
Removal : Often requires filing/drilling + soaking.

Pros:

  • Extremely durable and long-lasting.
  • Good for people with very weak or brittle nails.
  • Easy to sculpt custom shapes/lengths.

Cons:

  • Can be damaging if not applied/removed properly.
  • Strong chemical smell during application.
  • Harder on natural nails than gel.

Nail Enhancements

Regular Gel Polish

What it is : Gel polish applied directly to natural nails, cured under UV/LED.
Durability : 2–3 weeks.
Look & Feel : Thin, natural, flexible (like nail polish but stronger).
Removal : Soaks off with acetone.

Pros:

  • Looks very natural.
  • Adds shine and resists chipping better than normal polish.
  • Minimal damage if applied and removed properly.

Cons:

  • Doesn’t add length.
  • Less durable than Gel-X or acrylics.

Nail Enhancements

Hard Gel Nails

What it is : A thick gel product that hardens under UV/LED light. Unlike soft gel (like Gel-X or gel polish), hard gel cannot be soaked off—it must be filed down.
Durability : 3–4 weeks (similar to acrylic).
Look & Feel : Stronger and more flexible than acrylic, lighter than Gel-X tips, and can be sculpted into custom shapes/lengths.
Removal : Must be filed down with an e-file (electric nail drill).

Pros:

  • Strong but slightly more flexible than acrylic (less prone to cracking).
  • Can create custom lengths and shapes (like acrylic).
  • Natural-looking and glossy finish.
  • Odor-free compared to acrylic.

Cons:

  • Cannot soak off—requires filing, which can damage natural nails if done improperly.
  • Application takes longer than Gel-X.
  • Less common in some salons compared to acrylic or Gel-X.
